DS Day 5 recap

Padres 3 Cardinals 1- Chris Young came through for the Padres by tossing 6 and 2/3 shutout innings and keeping the Friars alive for at least one more day in what is now the only series left running.

Tigers 8 Yankees 3- Never has being wrong been so fun. Bonderman slammed the door in the Yankees face with 8 and 1/3 strong innings and Andy Van Slyke had plenty to do as first base coach as the Tigers rapped out 13 hits off of Wright and a variety of Yankee pitchers. Losing the division to Minnesota really woke the Tigers up.

Mets 9 Dodgers 5- The Mets got an easy sweep against the Dodgers as they pounded Greg Maddux last night. Maybe easy isn't the right word since they fell a little behind in the fifth, but they quickly bounced back and put this one away, reminding everyone that they are in fact the Mets, even if they haven't played a real game since the All-Star break.
