Rain

They barely snuck one in last night, and it apparently didn't turn out to be a good idea for the Buccos that they did. I didn't see any of it, but things clearly did not go well. Ollie got lit up pretty good by the guy he was traded for, though a two hour rain delay will not do anything to help a starter. I've also seen some rumblings in the comments that the ump didn't do Ollie any favors. It's raining pretty good again right now, but it seems like there's a decent chance of things clearing up before the game.

For now you can take some amusment out of today's Pirates notebook in the PG, in which Sean Casey and Mike Gonzalez hint that they think they can do some climbing in the standings. It's amazing what four wins in a row will do for everyone's confidence (I'll assume Dejan talked to them before yesterday's game). As is pointed out by Dejan, the Bucs need to go 62-45 the rest of the way just to get to .500, and they need to go 70-38 to get to 90 wins and actually into things. That is actually quite depressing, as it puts the Buccos terrible start into one hell of a perspective.
