Pirates 6 Orioles 1

In the last 20 days we've played 20 games. We've won 11. We've been playing first place teams every day since last Monday. We've won 7 of those 10 games. To say the Pittsburgh Pirates are playing good baseball is an understatement. In the last ten days we've been playing great baseball. Today was a great example. I can't think of one thing to complain about from today's game. Think about that for a minute. Even last night I wondered why Restovich was brought up to pinch hit after Jack's homer. Chen pitched very well but we got to him early and it was enough for Kip, who looks like he might turn into the ace we've been looking for since he showed up in 2002 (on his way out the door of course, unless this ship really gets righted in the next month and a half and we're not selling come the end of July). We needed insurance late in the game, and we got it. Mackowiak batted clean up and he did what clean up hitters do, he got hits when he came up with people on base. I'm with the e-mailer Greg and Bob read from tonight, he's an All-Star to this point in the year (but you know LaRussa will cop out and pick Mesa and leave it at that). Anyways, we finally get an off day tomorrow (our first since the aftermath of the Mesa debacle against the Cubs), then the Devil Rays come to town. It's vital that we DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THEM, but I'll have more on that later. Right now I'm going to enjoy the fact that tonight we assured that the Orioles still haven't won a series against us, ever.

20 games in 20 days (final record): 11-9
