An error in judgement?

So knowing that the Giants hit left handed pitching as well as or better than anyone in the NL, doesn't it seem like a mistake to pitch three left-handed starters in a row against them, especially when Josh Fogg hasn't pitched in over a week and could presumably have been used in any of these three games this weekend? If he's well enough to pitch tomorrow, he's almost certainly well enough to pitch today, especially since the game tomorrow will be after a plane ride and he has AN EAR INFECTION. I guess hindsight's 20/20, but it seems to me that someone should have seen this coming.
