Snell
We lost to Leyland's new charges yesterday but in keeping with the theme of the spring, I'm mostly interested in how certain pitchers looked. Yesterday the guy to keep an eye on was Ian Snell, and according to Dejan (and the box score) he looked pretty good, throwing three pitches effectively, his fastball, curve, and the elusive changeup. If Snell is throwing that changeup and working on it this spring, he should be a lock for one of the two open rotation spots. In fact, him pitching well this spring will probably ease the pressure Littlefield and Tracy may feel to hurry Burnett back to avoid a nightmare situation of having both Santos and Vogelsong in the rotation. Speaking of Santos, it's his turn to take the mound today as the Bucs play the Twins in a non-radio game. It's hard to say how up to date the MLB.com scoreboard is, but right now I see Santos as giving up three hits but no runs in less than two innings.
