Game 119: Reds 5 Pirates 1

As it turns out, Jeff Karstens is human. He walked the first batter against the Reds tonight, gave up a home run to Brandon Phillips in the first inning, and wound up giving up 4 runs (3 earned) in his seven innings tonight. It was still a decent start, even if it was considerably less brilliant than his last one (to be fair, every start for the rest of his life might be considerably less brilliant than his last one). His effort just wasn't enough against Edinson Volquez and the Reds bullpen tonight, which is a terrifying statment when you get right down to it.
