First things first, the breaking news today is that Matt Capps is going on the DL with a shoulder problem that isn't really specified, but sounds serious. This is probably something that's been coming for a while, as a blind man could see his performance drop off in the past few weeks. JR will use the closer by committee from here on out.

As for the game, well, John Van Benschoten is starting. He's from Cincinnati, which is a nice story, but he's one of the worst starters to take the field for the Pirates in recent memory. The Reds' left-handed hitters are going to destroy him tonight.
