Game 62: D'Backs 4 Pirates 3
Gorzo got in a ton of trouble in the first inning last night, walking two and giving up two hits, allowing three runs to score. From there he only gave up three hits and walked one in six shutout innings. He only struck out one, so he's still a long ways away from where he was last year, but remember: baby steps.
Unfortunately for Gorzo, Dan Haren was just as good, scattering five hits in his seven innings that went for three runs because of solo homers by Nate McLouth and Jason Bay. That set the stage for John Grabow, who's given up six earned runs all year, but two of them have come in the ninth inning of ties games. That's not a great stat for Grabow right there, though it's likely more sample size than anything.
