Pirates 5 Cubs 4

This was a strange Pirates-Cubs game if you expected it to follow the model that was set in the past week of games. Instead of finishing with lots of franticly terrible baseball, this one started out with 9 runs in the first two innings and then promptly hit the snooze button for 2 and 1/2 hours. We pounded Zambrano (OK, actually he walked a ton of guys, we got some bloop hits, then Nady pounded him) in the first inning for four runs, sparked by Weapon X's 3 RBI double (he's 6-for-7 against Zambrano this year with 5 doubles... that's Pujols vs. Snell stuff). The Cubs came roaring back in the bottom of the second on a similar situation with Ryan Theriot taking Nady's place as the deliverer of the three run double. From there on out the bullpens took over (Zambrano left in the second with some kind of injury, Maholm only went five) and things got boring, except for the Damaso Marte show in the 7th. With today's win we're only 1/2 game behind the Cubbies for 5th place, a place that's last place in every division except for ours.
