Christmas in April
There are honestly not many days in the year that I look forward to as much as Opening Day. As the season wears on it's easy to get cynical about the Pirates and baseball in general. While the offseason progresses it's easy to get caught up in the poor way the team is managed. But Opening Day is about something else, it kind of transcends all the petty stuff that goes on with McClatchy and Littlefield during the other 364 days of the year. Everyone's slate is clean and it might not stay that way for long, but today we can pretend it will. I'm not going to go all Terrance Mann here (or JD Salinger, if you happen to be more of a fan of the book), so let's just leave it at the fact that today is the best day of the year for most baseball fans, especially those of us without a postseason to look forward to.
Anyways, I had hoped to be able to keep a live blog of today's game, but I just have waaay to much school stuff to do. That being said, I'm still going to try and keep a post open during the game to be updated periodically. Let's go Bucs!
