Leyland to Detroit

Well, that was quick. We clearly didn't show any interest in Leyland, nor were we going to if he took the job in Detroit that quickly. I'm kind of surprised that's where he ended up, knowing his desire to win and win quickly, but then again Detroit is in a similar situation to us. They're even run by Dave Littlefield Sr. (I guess he prefers Dombrowski). As far as I'm concerned this can only be good news, mostly because now I don't have to write long posts about why Leyland isn't the man for the job while rabid Leyland fans go for my throat. Well, that and he wouldn't have been a good fit for us and this assures that we won't be trying to jam a square peg into a round hole.
